This riverboat and cultural tour at Palo Verde National Park includes a boat tour to view the local wildlife, a Costa Rican cultural experience, and lunch!
Nicaraguan Day Trip
Nicaragua, Costa Rica’s neighbor to the north, is very close to Guanacaste. A beautiful country with a rich culture and an extensive history, Nicaragua offers you a unique contrast to Costa Rica.
This trip starts early in the morning to avoid lines crossing the border. Keep in mind that all participants of the tour must have their passport and flight itinerary. Once across the border, enjoy a delicious breakfast near the city of Rivas.
We continue until we reach Catarina, where we can see the Laguna de Apoyo and the Lake of Nicaragua. We visit the Masaya Volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in the region, which has been cataloged by NatGeo as one of the “gates of hell.” A delicious lunch awaits us, and we recover energy and continue with our one-day experience in Nicaragua.
We visit the city of Granada, one of the first cities founded by Europeans in America. A colorful and vibrant place, Granada was built with Spanish colonial architecture that remains in place today. In Granada, you can visit the main church, known simply as Cathedral, and the Plaza de España.
We complete our adventure with a boat tour of the islets with their world-renowned charm.
